Castillon-Côtes-de-Bordeaux is located in the west of Bordeaux, near the Dordogne river, in the continuity of Saint-Emilion hills.
With an altitude difference of over 100 meters, the appellation covers 3 000 ha and produces around 160 000 hl of wine exclusively red.
The region cultivates mainly three grape varieties characteristic of the appellation: Cabernet-Franc, Merlot and Cabernet-Sauvignon. The wines produced are very pleasant, concentrated and generous.
The soils are gravelly near the river, clay soils at the foot hills and become clay limestone and limestone on the plateau. This three major types of terroir offer the perfect conditions for winemakers to produce and grow exceptional quality wines.
