Fronsac

Fronsac appellation is located in the west of Libourne, bordered by Dordogne and Isle rivers.

The vineyard of the appellation covers 840 ha and produces about 44 000 hl of red wines only each year. The dominant grape variety planted is Merlot, it is often blend with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet-Sauvignon.

These wines are distinguished by a tannic structure with aromas of red fruits and spices. The mouth is balanced, strong and rich.

The terroir combines clay-limestone soils made up of molasses of the Fronsadais (a mixte of clays and sandstones) totaly suitable for the production of great red wines.
