Pauillac appellation is situated North of Bordeaux, in the Médoc area, along the Gironde Estuary.
The 1 213 hectare vineyard planted of Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot principaly, produce around 53 000 hl of red wines each years.
The terroir combines exceptional climatic and geological conditions, allowing it to produce very fine wines. Pauillac wines are full-bodied, complex, rich in tannin and vigorous.
The characteristic of the Pauillac terroir is its exceptional relief with poor Garonne gravels very poverty but highly favourable to the vineyard growing.
The appellation have three of the five Premiers Grands Crus Classés of 1855: Lafite Rothschild, Latour and Mouton Rothschild.
