Pomerol

Pomerol appellation is located in the Libournais area and is one of the smallest. The appellation is famous for the mythic Pétrus, one of the rarest and most expensive wines in the world.

813 hectares of vineyard are producing average 33 500 hl of red wines each years. 

In Pomerol, Merlot is the king of the grapes varietals. The specific clay soils of the terroir allows it to express itself like nowhere else. It is sometimes blend with a small proportion of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet-Sauvignon or Malbec.

The wines are characterized are delicate and intense. Opulent and sensual they can be savored young but often deserve to evolved. 

Note: Pomerol has always refused to establish a ranking and to be included in the official 1855 Classification. It does not avoid the Chateaux to have a worldwide reputation and a demand that exceeds the offer.
